Step-by-Step Guide
1. Prepare the Oil Phase
- In a heat-safe beaker, combine Olivem 1000, cetyl alcohol, caprylic/capric triglycerides, jojoba oil, and squalane.
- Heat gently until fully melted.
- Set aside and cover to prevent contamination.
2. Prepare the Water Phase
- In another beaker, mix distilled water, rose infusion, and glycerin.
- Stir in xanthan gum to create a smooth, gel-like consistency.
- Heat the water phase to match the oil phase temperature.
3. Emulsification – Combining the Phases
- Once both phases are at the same temperature (around 70°C/158°F), slowly pour the oil phase into the water phase while blending with an immersion blender.
- Mix until the emulsion forms and becomes creamy and uniform.
- Cover and let it cool to room temperature.
4. Cool-Down Phase – Adding Actives & Preservative
- Once the cream has cooled to below 40°C (104°F), add royal jelly, niacinamide, tocopherol (Vitamin E), and rose extract.
- Mix thoroughly to ensure even distribution.
- Finally, add Liquid Germall Plus as a preservative and stir well.
5. Checking & Adjusting the pH
- The ideal pH for this face cream should be between 5.0 and 5.5.
- Prepare a 10% dilution (mix 1g of cream with 9g of distilled water).
- Use a pH meter or pH strips to measure the pH.
- If needed, adjust the pH using a drop of lactic acid.
6. Final Touches
- Transfer the cream into a clean glass jar.
