Ingredients & Their Benefits

Water Phase (Hydration & Antioxidant Base)

  • Orange Powder Infusion – Rich in natural vitamin C, it brightens the skin and provides antioxidant protection.
  • Distilled Water – A clean and pure base for dissolving active ingredients.

Active Ingredients (Skin Brightening & Nourishing)

  • Vitamin C Powder (Ascorbic Acid) – The key ingredient that helps even out skin tone, boost collagen, and fight free radicals.
  • Lemon Extract – Helps lighten dark spots, improve skin radiance, and reduce pigmentation.
  • Kiwi Extract – A powerhouse of antioxidants and vitamin C, it supports skin renewal and elasticity.
  • Bell Pepper Extract – Packed with vitamin C, it protects the skin from environmental damage and hydrates it deeply.
  • Orange Extract – Revitalizes dull skin and enhances its natural glow.

Gelling & Hydration (Texture & Stability)

  • Glycerin – A humectant that draws moisture into the skin, keeping it soft and hydrated.
  • Xanthan gum helps create the serum’s smooth, gel-like texture while providing a lightweight feel on the skin.
    • It also acts as a stabilizer, ensuring the ingredients remain well-mixed and evenly distributed.
  • Acacia gum is a natural thickener that enhances the serum’s silky and hydrating consistency.
    • It also has soothing properties, helping to improve skin hydration and texture.

Preservation (Shelf Life & Safety)

  • Liquid Germall Plus – A broad-spectrum preservative that prevents bacterial and fungal growth, ensuring the serum remains safe for use.

Recipe:

phase A

  • 4.5g Orange Powder Infusion
  • 20.76g Distilled Water
  • 1.5g Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C Powder)
  • 0.3g Lemon Extract
  • 0.3g Kiwi Extract
  • 0.3g Bell Pepper Extract
  • 0.5g Liquid Germall Plus (Preservative)
  • 0.3g Orange Extract

phase B

  • 1.5g Glycerin
  • 0.09g Xanthan Gum
  • 0.3g Acacia Gum)

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Prepare the Orange Powder Infusion

  • Infuse the orange powder in hot water for 30 minutes.
  • Strain it to extract the nutrient-rich liquid.
  • This infusion forms the base of our water phase. If you prefer, you can skip this step and replace its amount with distilled water.

2. Create the Water Phase

  • Weigh the required amount of orange infusion.
  • Mix it with distilled water and vitamin C powder.
  • Stir well until the vitamin C is fully dissolved.

3. Prepare the Extracts

  • Combine lemon, kiwi, bell pepper, and orange extracts in a separate container.
  • Mix well to ensure all extracts are evenly blended.

4. Add the Thickening Agent

  • In another container, mix glycerin with gums(phase b) to prevent clumping.
  • Gently pour phase b into the serum base in two steps to ensure even distribution.
  • Stir well and let it sit until the serum develops a smooth jelly-like texture.

5. Adjust the pH

Since we’re using unstable ascorbic acid, the pH should be between 3 and 3.5.

  • Make a 10% solution of the serum.
  • Use a pH meter or pH strips to check the pH.
  • If you’re using a stable form of Vitamin C, you may need to raise the pH to around 6.

6. Preserve Your Serum

  • Add Liquid Germall Plus to extend shelf life.
  • Mix well and transfer your serum into a clean container.
